DJ Vadim is a seasoned veteran and innovator of the electronic music scene since the early 90’s. For those unfamiliar with Vadim, his unique style on the turntables can be difficult to describe. If I had to sum it up in one word… polished.
Vadim had the crowd moving from start to finish at Lincoln Hall this Easter Eve. Lush trip hop and dub beats were garnished with an array of spices ranging from heavy bass and reggae to world music, funk, and soul. Each track paired familiar ingredients with exotic flavors all cooked to perfection as an elegant, yet entirely original dish.
DJ Vadim’s versatility and creativity on the turntables come as no surprise. He’s been in the game since ’94 performing over 2500 times in 60 countries and producing nearly a dozen albums. In his twenty odd years as a touring musician, Vadim seems to have perfected the rare ability to keep booties moving while keeping it chill enough for the crowd to mesh. His sound was as fitting for a late night house party as it was cruising down Lake Shore with the windows down on a sunny afternoon.
Vadim pumped the volume and energy perfectly throughout the set, capping it off nicely with a guest verse from a local MC before passing the torch to Quantic. Crystal sound as usual from Lincoln Hall combined with great energy, beautiful people, and dope beats made this one to remember.
